Winter 2016
Although we have had plenty of rain this winter (resulting in the garden lawn being completely waterlogged!) the temperatures in North Buckinghamshire have been relatively mild so far. We did wake up to a slight covering of snow on the 17th January (see photo’s below) but this had disappeared by the evening. The male Sparrowhawk previously mentioned has increased to a male and female - both have been persistent in visiting our garden in search of food.
Now that the morning and evenings are becoming lighter there has been an increased interest in the 3 bird boxes we have placed in our garden and in the trees just the other side of our garden fence. I hope we will get to see this year’s fledglings.
The snowdrops and violets have put on a brilliant display under the plum tree and the early forms of daffodils are starting to put on their own show. Roll on Spring!
